Charles Waters Campground/ Bass Creek Day Use Area.

Location: To reach the Charles Water Campground, take US Highway 93 south 25 miles from Missoula and turn west on Bass Creek Road. Go west for 2 miles. The Day Use Area and Nature Trail will be on the right and the Campground on your left.

There is a use fee at this location.

1: Picture 1--Charles Waters Campground: One of several accessible campsites with a paved parking pad extending to under a picnic table with a wheelchair seating space, and a BBQ pit with an accessible cooking surface. There is no space for a tent along the accessible route.

2: Picture 2--Bass Creek Picnic: The accessible picnic area with a paved parking pad, paved pad under the picnic table which has a wheelchair seating space, and a BBQ stand with an accessible cooking surface. A paved route passes a water fountain and continues to the accessible bathroom.

3: Picture 3--Charles Waters Campground: Picture is of the the group campsite. Only part of this site is accessible. The paved path into the site abruptly ends, leaving a tread obstacle of about 2 inches.

4: Picture 4--Bass Creek Nature Trail: The trail is made of compacted gravel, firm and stable surfacing, and the narrowest point is 32". The trail is mostly accessible except for one 120' section that slopes 5-15%.

2: The accessible campsites are reported here as being RV only because they do not have an accessible route to the tent-pad portion of the campsite.

3: In the Bass Creek picnic area, there is a drinking fountain along the paved path between the accessible picnic area and the bathroom. This site has a fitness trail and a nature trail, but they are not accessible.
