About MonTECH Recreation
MonTECH is focused on increasing outdoor recreation opportunities for Montanans with disabilities and those who experience limitations through aging in a variety of ways.
First, MonTECH helps Montanans participate in wildlife viewing, fishing, hunting, and other related activities, such as camping and hiking, by offering an equipment library that checks out assistive technology to aid in the pursuit of these activities. This equipment library was originally made possible by the Montana Access To Outdoor Recreation (MATOR) project.
Secondly, MonTECH is compiling a database that can be accessed through a webpage that is a one-stop resource for comprehensive accessibility information for Montana public recreation lands. The origin of this project was the Montana Accessible Recreation Opportunities project. Though the funding for these projects has officially ended, many of the services and resources developed through the projects still remain.
