Johnsrud can be a very congested site during the 6-weeks of hot summer, mainly on the weekends. The upper boat launch/beach area is where it gets the worse. Vehicle access is allowed to this area for a 20 minute unloading/loading period. For launching or retrieving boats, the downstream/lower ramp is the best during this time-frame.
