Sheepshead Recreation Area.

General information.

Region: Region 3--Southwest.
Dominant Setting: mountain, forest, lake.
Location: Travel 8 miles north from Butte on Interstate 15. Take the Elk Park exit and continue 8 miles on Forest Road 442. Follow the signs to the area.

Amenities: pit toilets, drinkable water.
Pets are allowed (on leash).

Type of trail: loop trail, destination trail (Maney Lake.).
Trail surface: paved, surface is firm, surface is stable.
Trail dimensions: minimum clear tread width of 48 inches, maximum running slope of 8.5 degrees, maximum cross slope of 2.5 degrees, there are tread obstacles, maximum tread obstacle height is 2 inches.
Length: 1 to 3 miles.
Other trail features: benches, some benches have back support, boardwalks and/or bridges.

This recreation area was built in the early 80's, therefore, some of the facilities do not meet today's accessibility standards. However, this site has some really great facilities and is worth the visit.
