Location pictures.
1: Picture 1--Boat launch area showing twin boat launches, part of the large boat launch area gravel parking lot, and a beautiful view of an inlet of Holland Lake and surrounding mountains.
2: Picture 2--Day Use Area: One of three accessible picnic tables with a wheelchair seating space, BBQ stand, and firm and stable, although slightly uneven, gravel access route. The dedicated swimming area and long sloping beach lawn can be seen in the background.
3: Picture 3--Most campsites are accessible. This campsite shows how some of the accessible campsites may have a limited clear tread width (32 inches at this site) because the access route between the parking pad and the campsite passes through parking curbs.
4: Picture 4--Most campsites are accessible. This campsite shows a continuous, firm and stable, but slightly uneven in places, gravel surface extending from the parking pad around the picnic table and BBQ pit.
5: Picture 5--Unfortunately, the most difficult access routes in the Bay Loop are those leading to the bathrooms with flush toilets. This picture shows the most difficult access route with a short 6.5 degree slope on firm and stable gravel with a 2.5 degree cross slope and 36 inch clear tread width. There is also up to a 3 inch step from the access route onto the concrete pad of the bathroom. Access to the other bathroom on the Bay Loop (also with flush toilets) is better, and access to this bathroom is better if approached from a different direction.
Additional information about this location.
1: There are large parking lots at the boat launch and day use area. Most campsites in both loops of the campground are accessible. Bathrooms in the Bay Loop part of the campground have flush toilets, all other bathrooms have pit toilets. There is a large dedicated swimming area and picnic tables with wheelchair seating spaces and BBQ stands with accessible cooking surfaces at the day use area. The day use area provides otherwise accessible swimming and picnicking opportunities if one is able to negotiate the entrance route to the day use area (see access route details for the day use area).
2: The turnoff from Highway 83 to access this campground is between mileposts 35 and 36. More information about this site is available at VisitMT.com.
3: There is an interpretive/nature trail located near the day use area, however, the trail has not been maintained for years. In many places the trail is indistinguishable from the forest floor, and there are many downed trees over the trail.

Leash laws for dogs are not enforced here. Every dog I saw was off-leash, even two pit bulls that later attacked and bit me outside of a bathroom. The campground host was aware that the pit bulls were off-leash, and said that she would "talk" to the owners the next time she went up that campground loop.
