Location pictures.

1: Picture 1--Sheltered accessible picnic area with an accessible picnic table and a paved access route from a paved, parking space. Accessible bathrooms with pit toilets (also with a paved access route) can be seen in the distance. The sheltered picnic area overlooks the lake. This picnic area is located in southern day use area of the campground.

2: Picture 2--Boat launch area with two floating docks. Apparently swimming is allowed on either side of the boat launch, but the docks have signs saying 'No swimming allowed.' This boat launch is located in the southern day use area of the campground.

3: Picture 3--Dedicated swimming area in the southern day use section of the campground. This picture shows the inaccessible route to the swimming area as being very steep and unstable. This picture also shows a dedicated swimming area floating dock that is submerged underwater on the shore side of the dock. The dock should be dry as the spring high water level drops later in the summer.

4: Picture 4--The accessible campsite in the campground. A paved parking pad, wheelchair-accessible picnic table, and BBQ stand can be seen, as well as a paved path leading to a water spigot and an accessible bathroom and shower beyond the campsite. This site has an electrical hookup.

5: Picture 5--Example of several other campsites in the campground showing a packed dirt campsite with uneven ground and a slightly raised gravel parking pad. The uneven ground, while smooth, may create slope and cross slope hazards. There may also be tread obstacles from roots. The BBQ cooking surface is lower than 15 inches.

Additional information about this location.

1: Swimming. The dedicated swimming area is completely inaccessible due to the steep, unstable slope leading down to it from the parking area. Also, the shore side of the swimming area floating dock is under water during high water times of the year. Apparently swimming is allowed near the boat launch, where users can access the shoreline from the boat launch access route, but the two floating docks for the boat launch are marked 'No Swimming'. Swimming near the boat launch area can be dangerous because of motor boat traffic and larger waves from boats.

2: In the campground, the accessible bathroom is marked as an accessible shower. It has a 31 inch aisle inside of the bathroom/shower room, a flush toilet, a shower stall with no bottom lip, an adjustable-height shower head (although a 6-foot-high reach is required to lower the shower head if it is already in the highest position), a fold-down shower seat, and a sink with a 34-inch-high surface. The regular bathrooms located in the same building are not accessible.

3: In the south day use area, a couple of accessible picnic tables are located in inaccessible locations. There are also other sheltered picnic tables, but they are located in inaccessible location as well. However, there is one accessible sheltered picnic table. An inaccessible trail connects the south day use area with the campground to the north.

4: In the campground, there is a pay phone and firewood is available for purchase. There is also a change machine. There is a four-inch-tall speed bump across the campground road that must be crossed if one wants to travel between the upper and lower campground areas. The accessible campsite is open to anyone (persons without disabilities) if it has not been occupied by 8:00 PM daily.

5: Access to the boat launch area and docks may be difficult due to loose and unstable gravel and the steep slope. In June, 2008, this was not a problem, but conditions may change as the area is used and maintained.

6: The entrance to the southern day use area is located on Highway 83 between mile markers 6 and 7. The entrance to the campground is located on Highway 83 between mile markers 7 and 8.
